So, five years ago in April, I applied to work for a company and got accepted. I vaguely remember having to leave during the first day of training and explaining to the training instructor that I wouldn't be able to finish training.

Mind you, I did not recieve a check OR a W2 from said company. And I promptly forgot about them.**

Today, I applied for a job. They liked me so much, they rushed me through the 1st interview, the 2nd interview, the final interview and set me up for training.

Now, guess which company figured out I did the half day of training with 5 years ago. And guess which company didn't figure this out until AFTER I had spent 5 hours in their offices and was given a job.

Guess which company just called me, an hour after I left their offices, to tell me I didn't have a job because, and I quote, "That instructor no longer works for our company, so we cannot confirm your story that a mistake was made, so we'll have to go with the documentation that you are not rehireable."

Nevermind that my former boss would give me a glowing review and tell them that in over three FUCKING YEARS I only missed 2 days of work and I had doctors notes both times. Or that I repeatedly came in on my days off because no one else was available to work.

Fucking bastards. Like I wanted to work Earthlink's tech support line anyway.

actually, I did because the people there were fucking cool.

**And before anyone gets on the 'how could you forget that?!' bandwagon, that was the month my grandmother was diagnosed with colon cancer after being taken to the hospital by ambulance, then transfered to another, better equipped cancer center.
