So. Went to Hell Creston to see GranJo. She sent me back with the sleigh daybed and my dad's TEENYTINY washer. Very tiny. Only holds like, two pair of jeans. Had a nice long visit with her, got to spend time with Seph and Blade too.
The fun was on the way home. Had the cruise control on, was going up a hill and the car downshifted to keep up speed. Well, when I hit the top of the hill, it didn't upshift. In fact, damn thing started to speed up.
So I killed the cruise, thinking it messed up (it would do that occasionally). Didn't work. Push on the brakes, the car doesn't want to slow down and as soon as I let off the brakes, it sped up again. So, I pulled over and put it in neutral, keeping my fingers crossed. No strange noises from the tranny, but the rpms kicked up and almost redlined. Dropped it in park and shut it off.
About that time, a car that had been behind us pulled over on the other side of the road. The guy had seen us pull over and then turned around to see if we needed help.
HELLOOOOOOOOO CUTIE. He knew what he was talking about too. I popped the hood (OF MY CAR, SICKOS) so he could take a look. Turned out that my cruise throttle cable had frayed, and when the car downshifted, the frayed section got caught and wouldn't let it disengage. He pulled iti lose so that I could get back to Omaha, but told me that the gas pedal throttle cable was starting to fray as well.
I say thank you, we go our merry ways. Except, after I get in the car, Di goes, "He was smart, and cute. Did you get his number?"
Me: Yes, he was and FUCK. No, I forgot.
*sighs* Oh well. And he looked a lot like Ian Somerhalder too.
