Okay, to explain the twitters from today.
Sep. 25th, 2009 05:21 pmMy aunt Pat, bullheaded and stubborn old woman that she is, got a bit pissy when the doctors and her other sisters wouldn't tell her what was going on. So she tried taking out all her tubes because she was going to leave the hospital.
Yes, this sixty-something old lady with MS who can't walk anymore, was going to attempt to leave the hospital on her own.
So, they explained what was going on. And she refused the trac and feeding tubes. Said she didn't want to be on the ventilator and for them to take it out. They asked her to wait until her son Jeff could get to town (he just had shoulder surgery and still can't travel for a few days, and he's 200 miles away from her) but again, she said no and tried to take the tubes out on her own.
They sedated her and restrained her.
About four hours ago, they took her off the ventilator. As of 2 hours ago, she was still fighting.
Di's plane left Tucson 45 minutes ago, she has an hour and half layover in Phoenix and then a four hour flight to Omaha. She'll be back on the 4th, and my nifty cushion for next month is gone. Boss has said she will get me all the hours she can so that I can make it back up over the next few weeks.
Gods bedamned. I hope the old lady holds out until Di can get there to see her, but I doubt it.
