leaveoutalltherestI saw the owl! I saw the owl! There's an owl that lives in the tree down the street, and he was perched on the garage roof when I took Jynx out just now. He just sat there and watched us the whole time!
Gods above, this place is cool during the full moon!
First off, let me describe GranJo's backyard (which is what I'm talking about.). Or, I'll just show you. *g*
Um yeah, that's it.
Aaaaaaaaany way. 2 apple trees, about 10 foot high. Lowest branches are about a foot off the ground, making them very easy for Jynx to climb.
The satellite is one of those old, 15 foot tall contraptions that they never took down. Instead, GranJo planted this climbing plant (not ivy, it has small purple and blue flowers) around it, and now it's *COVERED*. You can't even see the satellite, just this mass of green and blue and purple. The birds love it.
Small pond, maybe 3foot by 4foot. about 2 foot deep. Butterfly bushes along the back fence, get lots of faux monarchs with those.
Rest of the fence has a mixture of climbing ivy and climbing roses.
Now, on the south side of the fence (outside) is a very mean dog. On the north side of the fence (outside) is a very mean dog. Chained to the garage across the alley is, you got it, a very mean dog. NO ONE can get in this backyard without us knowing.
So, whenever I'm up here, and it's a clear night of the full moon, I like to sit in the backyard. Fucking awesome. Like my own little secret garden.
Add in the owls, and other assorted night creatures. Along with the occasional moo-ing from the cows. It's wonderful.
