At least some things are going right.

Re: My brother's wedding.
First, they chose a BAD weekend to get married. June 13th. Why is this bad? It's opening weekend of the College World Series in Omaha. It's damn near impossible to get any park space that weekend (or for the next week) without having to drop $2-300.
What went right? A friend of Manna's brother offered up a double vacant lot he owns with all kinds of trees and stuff for them to use for the wedding and reception.
Second, finding a Justice of the Peace who would do the ceremony for cheap on the weekend. Impossible.
What went right? A lady that we've known since grade school, who is an ordained minister and does weddings all the time (she's one of the few bilingual ones in Council Bluffs), offered to do it for $25.
Third, Manna has had a hell of a time finding a dress that she likes and can afford.
What went right? Rhonda (the minister) offered her daughter's wedding dress, which has never been worn because Julie kicked the guy to the curb and joined the Army, to Manna for free. To wear and to keep, if it fits. Julie is cool with this. (Apparently Julie wanted the big Cinderella fairytale wedding with that guy, and had the dress to go with it.)
Fourth, Mom didn't think she'd be getting back home for the wedding.
What went right? Well, family is awesome and she will be making it back one way or another. I may be going too, if I don't hear about this job I applied for.
Fifth, My dad is an asshole and says he might not be there.
What went right? He might not be there. :D
So, my brother's wedding is going to be in a pretty vacant lot, in a nice residential area in town. Desi is going to be the flower girl, Skyler is the ring bearer. And TJ's ex is going to be there because she thinks Manna is pretty cool. (Or she's going to try and stop the wedding, so I should probably get video just in case.)
