I called the Credit Union I go through at about 5:15 this evening, to double-check what time the drivethru closed. Just as their recording picked up, I had a long-distance call beep in, so I clicked over. It was a brief call, but by the time I clicked back, the recording had cut off.
So, I called back, thinking I would get the recording again. Only the recording didn't pick up, one of the girls working there did. In a very snotty voice, she said, '------ Credit Union, can you hold?' I replied yes, and instead of being put on hold, the phone was dropped onto a desk or the counter. Then I clearly heard the girl say, "Why call back, you know I'm busy. If I wasn't, I would have picked up the first time."
I hung up. I am pissed. SOMEONE'S manager is getting a very irate visit in the morning. Why? Because I've worked in a customer service position, not much different from her's. No matter how busy you are, you are to be polite and congenial on the phone. The customer is the one making sure you get a paycheck. Unless they are being rude, disruptive or otherwise idiotic, there is no reason for attitude such as that.
I hope the bitch gets fired tomorrow.
