Today started off well.
Sep. 21st, 2007 07:57 amOf course, Di may end up suspended for three days from work. She'll definately get wrote up, but she doesn't care.
See, we stopped off at BK to pick up breakfast for The Boss and a coworker of Di's. As we were pulling in, we noticed two dogs by one of the trash cans, and they looked pretty confused. After getting food, we pulled in to the gas station next door so Di could grab something to drink.
Well, the dogs were there. A guy in another car split a sandwich between them, and they kept wandering around the lot looking really lost and the female was so scared. Di came out and we started to leave. Well, they tried to follow, the male even going as far as trying to cross Dodge after me.
Here's the thing, Dodge St is four lanes going west right there at 30th St. It's the major street here in town, with the entrance to 1-80 less than a block away to the north, and three blocks away to the south. He almost got hit twice and I said 'fuck it' and pulled into Walgreens across from the gas station. The male hopped right into my car and once the female got across, she circled the car a few times before climbing in.
They were soooooooooo friendly and well trained, they both laid down when I told them too. Di decided to go to the shelter with me to drop them off, and she ended up being an hour late for work because it took a bit to get them into the kennels. We had to put them in separate ones, ;_; because after I finally got him in the kennel, I had to close it and you can't open them back up after that. She went in (re: I had to push her a bit) the one right next to him. Di was STILL crying when I dropped her off, but like I said, GOOD KARMA for us, because those two dogs have a HUGE chance of getting adopted. Friendly, well-trained and behaved. Unless they have major medical issues, they'll possibly end up in a foster home for a bit, but they'll definately end up adopted. Hopefully they'll go together, because they are a pair.
