Feb. 29th, 2008 12:12 amSo. Can't complain about Dell too much. I've been having issues with my CDRW/DVD drive for many, many months now. Usually when it wouldn't read a cd, I could just eject the disc and it would work. Of course, it's gotten to where I would have to retry the disc again and again.
Well, now it's to the point where it won't read cds at all. So, I hit up Dell's techChat. The first chick just took over my computer, uninstalled the drive and rebooted my system, then told me it was most likely a software issue and that wasn't covered under my warranty.
Yeah, so I tried it again, and this time, the really cool tech, actually ASKED me questions (like how long it had been going on and if I knew what brand of drive I had). As soon as I mentioned that it as a TSST TSL 462C... well, a new drive is being shipped out. I looked it up on google, apparently it's a pretty shitty drive that's 90% of the time, refurbished when it goes into the laptops.
So, maybe sometime next week I'll be able to actually PLAY my Sims games that are sitting on my endtable. Or use my discs for Spanish class.
