leaveoutalltherestI got a 5:30am wake up call this morning.
Reno, my darling sugarglider, decided he wanted to go for a walk. I have him in an extremely large bird cage, with those little sliding doors that the food dishes sit in. He was apparently playing with his food dish and managed to knock it partway out of the little door, propping the door open just enough for him to get out.
Not sure how long he was out, but I got woke up to Mia having a whining conniption fit. Opened my eyes, and in the early dawn light saw this little furry thing go flying from the top of the armoire to the bookcase.
So on went the night lamp. (Not a night light, this is a turtle lamp that barely lights up the room with an amber color.) On went the glove, because we're still working on handling with Reno. I locate him on the bookcase, hold out my gloved hand and the shit crawls onto the glove and sits in my hand, giving me this 'What did I do wrong?' look.
So, got him safely back in the cage without Mia or the kitties getting him, used some twisty ties to keep the little doors shut and gave him a treat.
At least I don't have to worry about gliding practice.

Was just checking on him, and the little brat is curled up in one of the pouches that I made and hung on the sides of the birdhouse. Yes, this makes me happy because for most of his life before me, he was living in a box or critter house. I've been trying to reintroduce him to the pouces because the pouches are normal for sugargliders. *bounces all over the place*

Tested the 'hold them in their pouch' thing! Used the glove to pick up the pouch and I was able to hold him in my lap like that for about fifteen minutes and pet him! Then Mia got whiny and it scared him so I put him back.
But still! Progress!
