Suicide Tag

A cross between 'Hide-N-Seek' and Tag, this game is played at night, on a large (and I do mean LARGE) playground with no lights. This game is best played with 6+ people. One person is It, and sits at base counting to an agreed upon number. When It reaches that number, It then runs about trying to 'tag' the other players until everyone has been tagged or reaches base.

Pretty simple, right? Wrong! *evil grin* We play at Dream playground, in Manawa state park. (The park 'closes' at 10, but DNR doesn't usually bother us unless we get really loud.) This is a LARGE playground. All wood, two levels and all the sections, except for the swings, are connected in some way. Lots, LOTS of hidey-holes, cubbies and towers to hide in. Base is this gazebo type tower with a bench in it. A wooden fence runs around part of this. It was built by volunteers in one week in 1993, and was designed by a bunch of 3rd graders. *g* FUN!

Here's a general idea of the park.

Here's where the 'Suicide' part comes in. The players are in between the ages of 14 and 28. No holds bar. We jump from catwalk to slide, 2nd level to the ground, slide to fence. We don't care what we have to do to keep from being it. Someone almost always ends up injured. (TJ messed up his ankle tonight.) There are very few rules.

1) Don't touch the sand. If you do, you are considered Tagged.

2) The last person 'tagged' is it next round. Unless...

3) IT cannot touch sand either. If they do, they are 'frozen' for 5 seconds.

4) If IT touches sand, the person who was just 'tagged' is free.

5) If 'Oley' is called by IT, IT is IT again.

6) If you are IT 3 times, you get to pick the next IT.

7) NO blood, NO foul. If you ain't bleeding or broken, get up and play.

8) NEVER, NEVER inform Kym that you are going to tag her and make her it. She will laugh at you from base for your next 7 turns. *g*

*blinks* Okay, there is a few more than a few. Anyway, it's a fun game. Strenuous and not recommended for small children. *g*
