Well, he was infected, but it wasn't the bone that the nail went into, but the joint right below his big toe. They lanced the top of the foot above the joint and cut out the puncture mark on the bottom of his foot, then lanced the joint. The doc said that the pus started oozing out then.
He'll be here for at least two days, on a nice antibiotic cocktail, and if he's better then, he'll get to go home.
