...you know, I wasn't going to go to this con. Because I really haven't had a chance to get into any of the meetup groups I've joined due to lack of money and transpo. But now... I think I have to go.
C&P'd from the newsletter for the Gaming Group here in Tucson, who C&P'd it from Berin Kinsman over at UncleBear.com
"Okay, where can you go to play Deadlands with award-winning creator Shane Hensley, Houses of the Blooded with award-winning designer John Wick, win the Button Men title belt from creator James Ernest (there is an actual belt!), play Munchkin with brand manager Andrew Hackard and win exclusive swag, play Changeling: The Lost with ENnie nominee Jess Hartley, and talk Star Wars with bestselling author Mike Stackpole? That’d be in my back yard, baby! RinCon '09, Southern Arizona’s premiere gaming convention, October 9th through 11th at the Tucson Convention Center!
Oh, and as of this moment, you can add "play poker and jam on Rock Band with Wil Wheaton" to that list. I was having coffee earlier this evening with Boyan Radakovich, RinCon '09 Convention Director, and he confirmed that Wil is coming to game with us and to do a reading from his latest book."
Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go and possibly try finding a game that caters to a newbie who has no idea what all these new games are. (Remember, the last time I actually PLAYED, it was one game way back 18 years ago.)
