I have RESPONSIBILITIES.

No, seriously, I do. I don't know whose bright idea this was (probably mine), but here it is.
When I started working for this company, oh... *checks journal* Wow, August 1st. Anyway, when I started working for them, they were small. Started out small, just a husband (W) and wife (J) who started doing housecleaning as a way for J to have a job (She had quit her previous one after she had their son because they both worked at the same place and just couldn't get time off together for family things). Just a couple of clients, a couple of days a week.
Well, they were going through a service company (where you put in what you want, and they match you with local companies that have good ratings and such), and between that, and word of mouth from their clients, the company has grown.
Like, six new clients in this week alone type grown. As in, tripled the customer base since I've started working there.
Now comments had been made three days after I started working for them, about me possibly being bumped up to Lead after they hired on a few more people. J was talking like it was going to be six or more months in the future.
It happened last night. Dinner staff meeting, I get officially named as lead, got a raise, and I'll be put on company email and...
Two very good reasons for this. The company has grown faster than they expected AND J is pregnant again. She's due April 5th. So, in about three months or so, I'll be the one running things in the field while J handles the office side of things. I'll be the one checking up on the crews, dealing with clients on the face-to-face things. Tuesday, I'll probably be meeting the interviewees that J is meeting with.
Of course, then the stupid bitch who was the other employee quit tonight, but that's a long-standing issue and she was going to get fired this week anyway! Lalala. Saved W & J from having to do it.
(Basically, she didn't understand how someone as young as me was getting more hours and a higher position than her [Um, I do the work, I do it damn well, I do it QUICKLY and oh, most important, the clients LIKE me, where as they don't like you! One of them was even convinced you were snooping through her stuff because you took so long dusting the bedroom. Also, I don't call in on payday and still expect my check to be brought to me.], and decided 'things just weren't working out'. WTFEver. Bitch, J would pick you up at your house, drop you off and bring you your check. You just didn't like the fact that I did the job better and J started having us meet her at a central pickup point instead of giving you front door taxi service. You think your new boss at the restaurant is going to do THAT for you? Only if you're on your knees at break time!)
The bosses are hoping that by Christmas time, we'll have at least one full crew out, me working Lead and dealing with clients, and one more on backup. By this time next year, two full crews.
Seriously, when did I get fucking responsibilities?
On a sad note, my aunt Pat, the one with MS, is in the hospital on life-support, in a coma and critical. No other word at the moment.
