The days get worse

Today, I called my father to have him let my grandmother know to get my one uncle's cat checked. He blew me off by saying that the cats were in different parts of the house, that my uncle's cat never left his apartment and Mayhem was in my grandmother's part of the house or outside. I wasn't going to get into it with him (even though Mayhem completely TRASHED my uncle's friend's cat, and that cat spent the next few month's in my uncle's apartment with his cat), and changed the conversation.

Then he really started in. First, it was about the weather. About how I wasn't going to be able to handle the heat and while I was fine now, it was going to be too hot and I would have problems with my lungs and asthma. Second, he started in on the jobs I was applying for. Either I wasn't qualified, I was too qualified, the job was too difficult, it wasn't going to pay enough for me to support myself... basically, I could tell him I applied at fucking MCDONALD'S and he would tell me I wouldn't get hired.

I know what it is. His fucking need to control everything and be right. This is his way of trying to make sure I doubt myself and fail and have to call him to help me get back to Nebraska so that he can say 'I told you so' and be right that I wouldn't make it here.

Fuck him. I love him, but I don't think I'll be speaking with him for a very long time.

Later this next week, when I know my grandmother is home, I'll call her about my uncle's cat.

I love it when parents pull that crap. I'm fighting that w/ my mom right now & fired off an email to her telling her either to put up or shut up and quit bitching at me. No response yet, I think I ticked her off but good by firing back.
